   Rules of Play Minimize

The following guidelines will govern our play (Sunday night Ice Pack)

  • No fighting
  • No chopping (two-handers of any kind, keep sticks down)
  • No hitting (physical play should be between friends, in the event of dispute be the first to apologize!) Self govern in a gentlemanly fashion. If the apology comes, accept it or go home for the week.
  • If you are too angry to keep your head, throw yourself out of the game and come back next week. Not kidding here.
  • Gentleman's call on offside. ( see self govern rule ) Don’t be nit-picky. Don’t use it as a tool to get even. Don’t be a jerk.
  • No Icing. – give the defensive team the first 60 feet to bring it out. That means retreat to the top of your offensive zone and let play resume.
  • If offsides is called, respect the call. Do not make the call if it is too close. Please try not to get even with the calls.
  • No hacking goalies to loosen puck.
  • Keep team play in mind. This is not all about you.
  • Lots of bodies each night – keep the pace of play up - quick changes.

   About us Minimize

Ice Pack Hockey consists of two entities - Montgomery Ice Pack Hockey Club and the Ice Pack Hockey League.

The Montgomery Ice Pack Hockey Club (Ice Pack) is a private pick-up group which books ice on Sunday evenings at the Cabin John Ice Rink. We have two "seasons": September-March and April-August. We register 30 skaters who pay for the entire "season" in advance. There is no charge for goalies and they can sign up on a private page on this site. For more information, please email Gary.

The Ice Pack Hockey League was started in the Spring of 2006. It is basically a B-/C+ adult league which plays at the Rockville Ice Arena. The games are generally on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The league has scorekeepers and USA Hockey certified referees provided by SHOA. Currently, there are six teams in the league.
